Lin-Sanity taking over NY
by Steve Farace

Lin was nearly released by his third team of the season. That was until
he took over Madison Square Garden and he has now guided the Knicks to a
5 game winning streak. He was once the 4th string point guard on the
team and now he has a guaranteed contract.
Can you imagine going from crashing on your brothers couch to being the starting point guard for the New York Knicks? Wow. That is what life has become for Lin, who has had 20+ points in 5 straight games and it doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. He was even compared to John Stockton and Steve Nash by the legendary Magic Johnson. He might have been getting ahead of himself, but it's not crazy to think that Lin possess some characteristics of the two.
The Knicks are now 5-0 without STAT and Melo. With Stoudemire set to rejoin the team on Monday, it will be interesting to see what happens from here. Lin obviously does not need to be a scorer on this team once STAT and Melo do return, so everyone should expect his scoring to go down, but that just means his assist totals will grow.
The Knicks have been in search of a true point guard since the beginning of the season. They have been waiting on Baron Davis for what feels like forever and he had a setback last week. It might be reasonable to believe that Lin will be the starting point guard for the remainder of the season and into the playoffs. Lin showed that he can perform even on a big stage with his 38 point game against the Lakers.
Have you caught Linsanity yet? If not, it's coming...
